                                      DANGERS
                (1) When a child consumes a soft drink, he is establishing the foundation for a potentially
fatal bone illness. No, sugary and carbonated beverages do not cause osteoporosis.
However, because they are frequently used as a substitute for a glass of milk, children
are deficient in calcium and vitamin D, which are essential for the development of a
strong skeleton. Because many of them live sedentary lifestyles, they aren’t getting
the bone-building benefits of intense exercise. Brittle bones are common in these
children, and they are more likely to fracture later in life. They may be at risk of
developing osteoporosis at a young age.
                (2) The Indian Society for Bone and Mineral Research, a group of osteoporosis professionals,
is attempting to raise awareness about the disease. Osteoporosis develops in childhood,
but has long-term implications. The illness causes bones to become riddled with holes,
similar to the framework of a termite-infested house. Broken bones can result, which
can lead to deformity, severe pain, and disability.
                (3) Osteoporosis can be fatal: up to 25% of seniors who break their hips die within a year.
Osteoporosis isn’t merely a hazard to your grandmother’s health. It affects about 50
million women in India, but it also poses a threat to over 12 million men. Osteoporosis
is a debilitating disease that causes loss of height, joint and back discomfort, fractures,
and the dread of fractures. As a result, it is critical that we take preventative actions
in order to save millions of lives.
                (4) A new medical understanding of the most effective strategies to safeguard ourselves
and our children has emerged. Dr Mittal argues that simple lifestyle modifications and
