How To Increase Your Own Confidence

        To start with, try these:

         • Create a list of things you excel in. Can you sing or draw? Can you read

well? Do you excel at sports? Can you tell a funny story?

         • Ask a parent or friend to help you create your list if you need assistance.

         • Work on the skills you already possess. Consider how you could practise

some of your strengths on a daily basis.

         • Convert ‘I cannot’ to ‘I can’. Are you telling yourself, ‘I am not good at

this’ or ‘I cannot do this’ in your head? That is you having a negative
self-image. Try to change these negative thoughts into positive ones.

Say to yourself, ‘I can attempt it’ or ‘I can handle this’. Say to yourself,

              ‘I will do my best’.

         • Give it your all. Making a good effort might make you feel good about

yourself. If you put in your 100%, it will boost your confidence. However,
do not get upset over the result.

         • Spend time with those you care about. Do fun activities with your
family or parents. It makes you feel like you belong, and that boosts

              confidence.

         • Be kind to your parents. Aid them with food preparation, cleaning,

or pet feeding. You feel good about yourself when you act kindly. You

              realise what you do matters.
