Subtraction as Taking Away Fact-o-meter
Subtraction means to take away objects The answer we get
from a group. It is shown by the sign ‘–’ after subtraction is

From 9, cross out 2 and count the remaining.
We say, 9 minus 2 equals to 7 and write as 9 – 2 = 7
From 9, take away 3.
9 – 3 = 6
We read it as 9 minus 3 equals to 6.
From 7, take away 2.
7 – 2 = 5
We read it as 7 minus 2 equals to 5.
