Reading the Time
A clock or a watch tells us the time.
It has two hands and numbers from 1 to 12.
11 12 1 Minute Hand
The short hand shows the hour. It is called 10 2
the hour hand. 9 3 Hour Hand
The long hand shows the minute. It is called 8 7 6 5 4
the minute hand.
In the clock, the hour hand is at 3 and the minute hand is at 12. The time
is 3 o’clock or 3:00.
Look at the clocks given below. The long hand is drawn at 12. Draw
the short hand according to the time given. One has been done for you.
