ACTIVITY 10.2

OBJECTIVE
To construct a parabola.

MATERIAL REQUIRED

 Cardboard  Compass
 White chart paper  Ruler
 Pencil  Glue

PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE
1. Knowledge of parabola and its standard forms

PROCEDURE
1. Take a cardboard of convenient size and paste a white chart paper on it.

2. Mark a point A on the white chart paper and draw a line from A (Fig. (a)).

3. Draw another line m perpendicular to the line through A at some distance k units to the left of A.

4. Take any point B on the line m and draw the perpendicular to m at this point.

5. Join B A and draw perpendicular bisector of B A, meeting the perpendicular through B at the point P
