PROJECT 5

        AIM
Application of mensuration in day-to-day life.

        MATERIALS REQUIRED

              A cylindrical glass
              A spherical bowl
              Water

        PROCEDURE
          1. Take a cylindrical glass of radius 7 cm (approx.) and height 15 cm (approx.) from your kitchen. Also,
take a hemispherical bowl of radius 15 cm (approx.)

          2. Completely fill both containers with water from water tap of your kitchen.
          3. Now, compare the quantity of water in both containers by actual calculation.

        CALCULATIONS

          1. Given, radius of cylindrical glass, r = 7 cm and height of cylinder glass, h = 15 cm
                                                  1

              \ Volume of cylinder glass = pr h = ............
                                                 2
                                                 1
          2. Given, radius of hemispherical bowl, r = 15 cm.
                                                     2
                                                      2
                                                          3
                \ Volume of hemispherical bowl = pr = ............
                                                      3
                                                          2
        RESULT

Quantity of water in cylindrical glass is ............ than hemispherical bowl.
