              Did you know there are many important days in a year that are celebrated

              all across the country to express our patriotism and our love for our
              country and countrymen?

              Let’s learn about the Special Days.



              1                           Republic Day is celebrated on 26th January of every year.

                                          The constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent
                                          Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into effect on

                                          26 January 1950, with a domestic government system.

               National Science Day is celebrated on 28th February

               of every year. It is celebrated to commemorate  the
               discovery of the Raman effect, which led to Sir C.V.

               Raman winning the Nobel Prize.


              3                           Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated on 2nd October of

                                          every year.  It is  the  birth anniversary of  Mohandas

                                          Karamchand Gandhi, who is known as the Father of
                                          the Nation. He was a non-violent freedom fighter.

               Children’s  Day  is celebrated  on 14th November  of

               every year to pay tribute to Jawaharlal Nehru, popularly
               known as ‘Chacha Nehru’. He was born on 14 November

               1889, and was known for his affection for children.

                                          Independence  Day is celebrated on 15th August of

                                          every year. India got freedom on 15 August 1947. The
                                          flag  is  hoisted  by  the  Prime  Minister  of  India  from
                                          the Red Fort, followed by the National Anthem.
