Introduction to Windows 11
Windows 10 has been one of the most popular versions of Windows operating system. It brought
several new features and other features that were an improvement of features already present in
earlier versions.
Microsoft launched the latest version of Windows operating system – Windows 11, on October 5,
2021. All PCs that run Windows 10 and satisfy the minimum requirements to run Windows 11 can
be upgraded to Windows 11. New PCs and laptops manufactured after October 2021 are available
with Windows 11.
Minimum System Specifications Required to run Windows 11
• Processors/CPUs: 1 Ghz or faster with 2 or more cores.
• RAM: 4 GB or more.
• Storage: 64 GB or larger storage.
• System Firmware: UEFI (for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface, a modern version of the
PC BIOS) and Secure Boot capable.
• TPM: Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0.
• Graphics Card: Compatible with DirectX 12 or later with WDDM 2.0 driver.
• Display: High definition (720p) display that is greater than 9″ diagonally, 8 bits per colour channel.
• Internet Connectivity and Microsoft Accounts: Windows 11 Home edition requires internet
connectivity and a Microsoft Account to complete device setup on first use.
• Windows Version for Upgrade: Your device must be running Windows 10, version 2004 or later, to
upgrade through Windows Update.
Windows has always been about helping you work how you want, by offering flexibility of multiple
windows and the ability to snap apps side by side. Windows 11 introduces Snap Layouts, Snap Groups,
and Desktops to provide an even more powerful way to multitask and stay on top of what you need
to get done. These are new features designed to help you organize your windows and optimise your
screen real estate so you can see what you need just the way you want in a layout that’s visually
clean. You can also create separate Desktops for each part of your life and customise them as per
your requirement.

Microsoft has adopted a modernistic interface for Windows 11 that is aesthetically pleasant and
practical as the same time. They have understood that most computer users spend a lot of time on
their smartphones and have created an interface similar to what they are habitual to. Android users
especially can relate to the new features such as App Drawers and Snap Layouts.
