When you select a chart, buttons appear on its right side. These buttons are –

• Chart Elements button: It provides options to add, remove, or modify chart elements.

• Chart Styles button: It provides options to set the style and colour scheme for the chart.

• Chart Filters button: It provides options to select the data points, the series, and the categories
you want to display in the chart.

The chart filter button is not present for all chart types.

All chart types do not have the same elements. Thus, they may not have all chart elements available to
add or modify.

CHANGING CHART TYPE 2
You can change the type or sub-type of the inserted
chart.

To change the chart type:

1. Select the chart whose type you want to
change.
2. On the Chart Tools Design tab, click the Change

Chart Type button in the Type group.
The Change Chart Type dialog box opens with
the All Charts tab selected.

3. Select the desired chart type and click the OK button.

Excel changes the chart type of the selected chart.
