Technology drives the world. It is technology that makes everything possible in
today’s modern times. Technology was not always what it is today. It is due to the
vision, innovation, and inspired thinking that has shaped technology into what it

is. Let us know about some people and brands that made it all possible.

Bill Gates

William Henry Gates III, born on October 28, 1955, is an

American business magnate, software developer, investor,
author, and philanthropist. Gates wrote his first software
program at the age of 13. He founded Microsoft along with
his late childhood friend Paul Allen in 1975. It became the

world’s largest personal computer software company. Gates
led the company as Chairman and CEO until stepping down as
CEO in January 2000, but remained Chairman of the Board of
Directors. He is best known for developing Windows, the world’s most popular

operating system, and MS Office, the most widely used package of software
applications worldwide.

From 1995 to 2017, he held the Forbes title of ‘Richest Person in the World’ every
year except from 2010 to 2013. In 2015, Gates received the Padma Bhushan for
his social work in India. In 2019, Barack Obama honoured Bill Gates with the
Presidential Medal of Freedom for his philanthropic efforts. In March 2020, Gates

left his board positions at Microsoft to focus on his philanthropic efforts on climate
change, global health and development, and education.

Mark Zuckerberg

Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, born May 14, 1984, is an American

business magnate, internet entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
He is known for co-founding the social media website Facebook
and its parent company, Meta Platforms, of which he is the
Chairman and CEO. He attended Harvard University, where he

launched Facebook in February 2004. The site expanded rapidly,
reaching one billion users by 2012.
