By default, Notepad saves all files as text files with the extension .txt.

OPENING A SAVED FILE

We can open a saved Notepad file to view or 1

change its content .

To open a saved file: 2

1. Click the File menu in the Menu bar.

2. Select the Open option from the drop-
down menu.

The Open dialog box appears. Time Saver

3. Click the file you want to open. Open document: Ctrl + O

4. Click the Open button.

The selected file is opened in the Work area.

EXITING NOTEPAD

To exit Notepad: 1

1. Click the File menu in the Menu bar.

2. Select the Exit option from the drop-
down menu.
