The selected cells will merge to form a single large cell.
Splitting Table Cells
Just as you can merge two or more cells to form a single large cell, you can also split a cell into two or more cells
to store multiple values in them.
Step 1: Select the cell that has to be split.
Step 2: Click on Table menu and select Spilt Cells option.
The Split Cells dialog box will appear.
