If the Keep ratio option is selected, then the two dimensions change so that the proportion is maintained, allowing
for a scaled resizing.
When a shape or image is selected, the Drawing Object Properties toolbar can be used to mange the drawing
object in following ways:
Text Wrapping
Text Wrapping options determine how the text around the inserted shape or object should be arranged. There
are several ways to wrap a text around an object. These option are available on the wrap tab in the Image dialog
box.
v None: The text remains as it is above and below the object.
v Parallel: The text fl ows around the object.
v Optimal: Optimal Page Wrap prevents text from being placed to the side of the
image and the spacing between the image and the margin is less than 2 cm.
v Before: The object is placed to the right side of the text.
v After: The object is placed to the left side of the text.
v Through: The object fl oats over the text and hides the text.
Align Object
An object can be aligned Left, Right, Center (horizontal), Center (vertical), Top and Bottom.
Arrange Object
Object can be arranged above all other objects, behind all the other object below
it, behind the object just below it or over the object just above it, Object can also
be placed above the text and behind the text.
Arrow Style
These can be selected for arrow heads and tails.
Inserting Special Characters
Sometime we may require to enter special characters, such as π or λ which cannot be typed by using the keyboard.
LibreOffi ce Writer provides a feature to enter number of special characters like ∑, β, ∞, etc.
To insert special characters:
Step 1: Place the cursor where you want to add the special character.
Step 2: Click on Insert menu and select the Special Character option. The Special Characters dialog box will
appear.
Step 3: Choose the required special character to be inserted.
