                   Activity Time


                  Form groups of four. Each group must draw or paste a picture on a chart paper and
                  frame eight sentences using appropriate prepositions in each. Display all the charts in
                  the class.








                   Listening & Speaking Time

                  The teacher will encourage talking in the classroom under a guided atmosphere through

                  group activities. He/She will first take prepositions of place/direction and initiate talking
                  by giving prompts. He/She will call a group of four students to the front of the class
                  and give them prompts for talking. The whole class will carefully listen to the talk. The
                  students will discuss and then one of the four will reply to the teacher.

              Prepositions          Student  :   The playground is behind the main block. The senior school
                  For example:  Teacher  :   Can you tell me where the playground and two libraries in
                                                  the school premises are?



                                                  library is adjacent to the senior wing. But we go across the
                                                  playground  to reach the library. Since, Grade  1,  we  are,
                                                  however,  using junior  school  library,  which  is  within this

                                                  building only.

                  After finishing one round, the teacher will call other four students and repeat the same
                  activity with the prompts of some other places.
