The sun shines The boy runs The girl sings The dog barks

                brightly. quickly. sweetly. loudly.

The words brightly, quickly, sweetly and loudly show how the actions are

done. They add some meaning to the verbs shines, runs, sings and barks.

        They are called adverbs.

Most adverbs are formed by adding -ly to the adjectives.

        Read these adverbs carefully.
