Let’s Learn Common and Proper Nouns


        A common noun is the common name of a person, place, or thing. A common

        noun always begins with a small letter.

        A proper noun is the special name of a person, place, or thing. A proper

        noun always begins with a capital letter.


        Look at the pictures and read.

        Here, boy is a common name for the two boys. Common names are called

        common nouns.

        Each child has a special name. Here, Asima, Kamal and Joy are the special

        names of the children. Special names are called proper nouns.
