Important changes

                The basic function of the subject and object gets changed.
              l
                The position of the subject and object in the sentence gets interchanged.
              l
                Past participles are used in the passive voice.
              l
          Remember the following points while transforming an active voice sentence into a passive voice.
                The object of the verb in the active voice becomes the subject in the passive voice.
              l
                An appropriate form of be is used according to the person and the number of the subject
              l
                and the tense of the verb.

                We convert the main verb into its past participle form.
              l
                We place the preposition by before the agent of the action. The subject in the active sentence
              l
                is the agent in the passive sentence.

          Changing Personal Pronouns in the Passive Voice

          We know that I, we, you, he, she, they, and it are personal pronouns. These are in their subjective
          form. These pronouns change their forms when they are used in place of objects.

          Passive Voice in Present Tense
          Read the table carefully to understand how passives are formed in present tense.

           Simple Present            subject + is/am/are + past participle + by + object

           Present Continuous        subject + is/am/are + being + past participle + by + object

           Present Perfect           subject + has/have + been + past participle + by + object


          Simple Present
          Active      :   I write a letter.
          Passive     :   A letter is written by me.

          Active      :   Anita washes clothes.
          Passive     :   Clothes are washed by Anita.
          Active      :   They help me.

          Passive     :   I am helped by them.
