A verb is a word that expresses an action, a happening or predicates a fact.
Every sentence is made up of different words. The most important word of these groups of words
is the verb. It affirms or predicates an action, a fact or a happening.
Study the following sentences carefully.
A. Actions : 1. The farmer is reaping the crop.
2. The cat chased the rat.
3. Ashoka won many battles.
B. Facts : 1. Food is our basic need.
2. Plants are also living beings.
3. The earth is almost round in shape.
