Qualitative Adjectives
A qualitative adjective is an adjective that describes the quality of a noun.
Study the following sentences carefully.
1. His brother is a renowned leader.
2. Good students attend their classes.
3. The beggar was wearing torn clothes.
Each word in colour is followed by a noun. So it is an adjective. As it describes the quality of its
noun, it is a qualitative adjective.
Interrogative Adjectives
An interrogative adjective asks a questions about its noun.
Study the following sentences carefully.
1. What day is it today?
2. Whose bottle is this?
3. Which road leads to the bus stop?

it is an interrogative adjective.
Emphatic Adjectives
An emphatic adjective is an adjective that emphasizes its noun.

3. Mahatma Gandhi was a true patriot.

called an emphatic adjective.
