An adjective is a word that qualifies a noun or pronoun.
The words that describe the qualities of nouns are called adjectives.

2. Napoleon was a French general.
3. He is wearing a blue shirt.
4. My mother is a capable doctor.
5. Which girl are you talking about?
6. I need some moral support.
Each word printed in colour is followed by a noun about which it describes something, i.e. adds
something to its meaning. So it is an adjective.
