             Fill in the missing articles in the conversation given below.

             Mother  :  Rishab, what do you want for your birthday?

          The words a, an, and the are called articles.

          A and an are called indefinite articles.

          The is called the definite article.


          A/an is used before singular countables: common and collective nouns.

          A/an is never used before singular uncountables: abstract and material nouns.

          The is used before all kinds of nouns when they are definite.



          Use of ‘A’

          The article a is used before the countable singular noun that begins with a consonant

          sound.

            1.  Every sentence has a verb.
            2.  A snake caught a frog.

            3.  Her brother is a doctor.
