Example 1: Convert ` 3 into paise.  To convert rupees into

Solution: ` 3 = 3 × 100 paise = 300 paise paise, just remove the
point or dot (.).
Example 2: Convert ` 5.50 into paise.

Solution: ` 5.50 = ` 5 + 50 paise = (5 × 100) paise + 50 paise = 550 paise

Conversion of Paise into Rupees and Paise

We know that when rupees and paise are writt en together, the point separates rupees
and paise. Aft er the point we have two digits for the paise. To convert paise into rupees,
count two digits from the right, and put a dot (.) aft er the second digit. Remove the word
paise, and write ` at the beginning.

Example 1: Convert 535 paise into rupees.

Solution: 535 paise = ` 5.35 R

Example 2: Convert 500 paise into rupees.  Zeros aft er point or dot

Solution: 500 paise = ` 5.00 have no meaning.

= ` 5
