A solid may also have cross sectional view that can be either horizontal or vertical which is obtained by cutting or
slicing it. For example, the horizontal cross section and a vertical cross section of a cube are same whereas those
of cuboid are different as shown in the table below.

By Casting a Shadow of the Solid
In order to study different 3D shapes. We need a source of light and
some different 3D objects. We can see a shadow when a source of
direct light falls on an object.
As you may see here, the direction and angle of light also change the
shapes. This technique is used in shading objects in arts.
By Viewing the Solid from Different Angles
Let us consider a solid figure as given below and try to view it from
different angles.
Top
Side The three views, i.e., top view, front
Front view and side view of this solid figure
