vehicles. As we have seen that this way of representing April
numerical data is time consuming and sometimes we May
have to draw part picture symbol which is also a difficult

Example 3: The following table shows the number of parents visited the school exhibition during a week.

Prepare a pictograph of visiting parents using one symbol to represent 100 parents and answer
the following questions:
(a) On which day the maximum number of parents visited the exhibition?
(b) Find the total number of parents visiting the exhibition.
(c) If the price of entry ticket is ` 20, find the earning made on Friday.
Solution: Using scale = 100 parents

= 300 + 200 + 400 + 500 + 600 = 2000 Thursday
