Freedom fighters were people who sacrificed their lives selflessly for the freedom of
their country. They are considered to be the propelling force behind the success of
          the freedom struggle.

Let’s read about the freedom fighters of India.
          1. Chandra Shekhar Tiwari, popularly known as Chandra
Shekhar Azad, was a great revolutionary leader and

freedom fighter. He helped reorganise the HRA
(Hindustan Republican Association) which played a
major role in India’s liberation to freedom.

                                       2. Subhas Chandra Bose, popularly known as ‘Netaji’
(Respected Leader), was a nationalist. His efforts to
liberate India led him to form the ‘Azad Hind Fauj’, now
known as the ‘Indian National Army’.

          3. Ram Prasad Bismil was a poet, writer, and revolutionary.
He was one of the founding members of the HRA. His and
HRA’s efforts helped nationalise the fight for liberating
             India to freedom.

                                       4. Bhagat Singh was a revolutionary and a member of the
HRA. He was a vocal critic of British rule in India, and was
involved in multiple attacks on the British administration.

He popularised the slogan ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ which
                                          means ‘Long Live the Revolution’.

           5. Vallabhbhai Patel was popularly known as ‘Sardar Patel’. He
was the first Deputy Prime Minister and first Home Minister
of India. He was one of the senior leaders of Indian National
Congress. His commitment to national integration in the
newly Independent India was total and uncompromising.
This earned him the sobriquet ‘Iron Man of India’.
