AI is getting smarter every day, which is awesome, but it brings up some big ethical questions. For example, think
about a guy who is crossing the street get is hit by a self-driving car. What should the car do? Who’s to blame—
the car maker or the AI developers? These are the kinds of tough questions AI ethics helps us figure out.
Here’s a simple example: AI helps banks with customer service using chatbots. That’s handy! But, on the flip
side, these chatbots mean fewer jobs for people. So, while AI can be super helpful, it also raises concerns about
people losing their jobs to machines.
In this chapter, we’re exploring the ethical concerns of AI. It’s like looking at the two sides of a coin—on one side,
AI is helping us in cool ways, and on the other side, it’s changing the job landscape for humans. Let’s see and
learn more about the ethical challenges of AI technology.
AI ETHICS
The term ‘AI ethics’ refers to a set of rules and principles related to AI systems. You know that AI enabled
systems become more capable day-by-day which raise complex ethical issues for the human world. These
ethical issues or concerns cause individuals or societies to evaluate different options in terms of what is
right or what is wrong? Let us understand with the help of an example. Suppose, a man is hit by an autonomous
vehicle based on AI technology when he is trying to cross the road. In such a case, you must think about the
following questions: What should an autonomous vehicle do? Who is responsible for this incident either the
manufacturers of autonomous vehicles or the developers of AI systems. In simple words, we can conclude that
