A proper noun is the special name of a person, place, or thing. A proper

noun always begins with a capital letter.

Look at the pictures and read.

Hello, I am a Hello, I am
boy. My name Asima. I am a Hi, I am a boy,
is Kamal. girl. too. My name

is Joy.

Here, boy is a common name for the two boys. Common names are called

common nouns.

Each child has a special name. Here, Asima, Kamal and Joy are the special

names of the children. Special names are called proper nouns.
