A  common noun is the common name of a person, place, or thing. A

          common noun always begins with a small letter.

          Look at each picture and read the sentence given with it.





                                The baby is playing.




                                         The boy and the girl are dancing.

                 The words baby, boy, and girl are names of people. So they are nouns.

          Look at each picture and read the sentence given with it.






                                     The children are playing in the field.




                                                             I go to school every day.


                 The words field and school are names of places. So they are nouns.

          Look at each picture and read the sentence given with it.




                                            The tiger is a wild animal.



                                                     A hare can run very fast.



                The words tiger and hare are names of animals. So they are nouns.

          Look at each picture and read the sentence given with it.













                I write with a pen.                                 We sleep on the bed.

                The words pen and bed are names of things. So they are also nouns.
