With the increasing use of social media and many other external factors such as family conflicts and societal pressure, mental health among children has deteriorated significantly. In addition to this, the stigma surrounding mental illness leads to the fear of judgement and creates a wide gap between children and parents owing to the different generations and perspectives. This further makes it difficult for parents to understand and empathise with their childrenas they are not aware about the issues and struggles that their children might be facing and how to deal with them.
Therefore, our book series on mental health education for class 1-10 called ‘A Better You’ serves as a vital tool forfostering understanding, empathy, and resilience in individuals of all ages. Through the use of narratives and educational resources such as lesson plans, interactive worksheets, and parents’ guide, etc. a comprehensive valuable resource has been created to empower individuals towardsmental health awareness and education.
Several other live experiences such as regular talks for parents on sensitive and informative topics such as Good Touch-Bad Touch, Bodily Changes During Teenage, Feelings & Emotions, etc. are being conducted to ensure that parents along with their children also have an insight into today’s relevant topics. Overall, our focus is to build and disseminate knowledge that leads to the creation of healthier, more resilient societies where everyone can thrive emotionally and psychologically.
