A FEW TOOLS & TECHNIQUES
When stress overwhelms us, it is difficult to think clearly in that moment. So, it is better to be
prepared in advance for such moments. Some tools to boost your resilience and reduce your
stress are:
1. Acknowledge stress: Get out of denial and acknowledge that you are stressed and look at the key
sources of stress.
2. Avoid overthinking: Do not brood over things. Our greatest weapon against stress is our ability
to choose one thought over another.
3. Alter your approach: Change the way you communicate and operate in your daily life. Most
stress comes from your reaction to the circumstances, not the circumstances themselves.
4. Adapt to stressors: Regain your sense of control by changing your expectations and attitude.
5. Accept the things you can’t change: Acceptance may be difficult, but in the long run, it’s easier
than crying and whining over a situation you can’t change.
