• There is shame associated with jealousy: Jealousy is a negative feeling and it is very hard for
us to express it openly. We feel ashamed about admitting to feeling jealous of someone.

A FEW TOOLS & TECHNIQUES
We are all students in the school of life and sometimes, when the lesson is too hard, just remember
the following:
• Meditation and mindfulness are best tools against jealousy as well as overpowering ego because
they help you become self-aware.
• Ego should be utilised to raise your state in life, not to hurt or belittle others. Staying away from
jealousy and big ego allows you to be your authentic self.
• In close relationships, ego should not control your actions and behaviour. It is better to accept
differences and resolve problems with respect. If you are able to feel happy for others, your bonds
will be deeper and more long-lasting.
• Instead of comparing your life with that of others to count what is missing, try to count what is
extra.
• Jealousy is normal, but uncontrolled jealousy which starts making you mistrustful and suspicious
is unhealthy.
