A FEW TOOLS & TECHNIQUES
When it comes to mental health, we should always keep the following points in mind:
1. Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience, just like a
common cold or fever. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but, more importantly, YOU
ARE NOT THE RAIN.
2. If you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. You can mend yourself, with or without help
from others. It’s important to have faith that you can do it.
3. Your sad days will ultimately make you stronger. Or maybe, they will prove to you that you were
always strong without being aware of it. Tough times test us, but they also show us what we are
capable of.
4. You don’t have to be positive all the time. It’s perfectly okay to feel sad, angry, annoyed, frustrated,
scared, and anxious. Having feelings doesn’t make you a negative person. It makes you human.
5. Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you, doesn’t mean you can, should,
or need to do it alone. You can always ask for guidance and support from people you trust and
people who care for you.
“Adolescents are not monsters. They are just people trying to learn how to make it among
the adults in the world, who are probably not so sure themselves.”
