Can you think of reasons why a person becomes a bully?

                                            A FEW TOOLS & TECHNIQUES

‘Be assertive’ is good advice. But how does one implement it? Some of the techniques which
would increase your self-confidence and help you become more assertive are:

                  • Learn to respect yourself: Stop for a moment and think if you believe in yourself. Do you
think you are loveable and likable? Why or Why not? Until you develop your own ideas and
respect yourself, it will not be possible for others to show you respect.

                  • Learn to say no: Saying no to things you are not comfortable with does not mean you are rude
and selfish. It means that you are strong and have your own opinions. Following others blindly
is not really a sensible way to live.

                  • Do not be shy about expressing your needs and feelings: Keeping your emotions bottled up
is harmful for two reasons: One, it is frustrating and affects your studies and peace of mind,
and two, it keeps others from understanding you and creates confusion between you and them.

“No matter how improbable an assertion is,

if it is made with enough assurance, it has an effect”
