Let’s Understand
Consider these examples: When a stranger holds your hand
forcefully; when any adult that you know hugs you from behind,
even when you asked them not to, do you think these are safe
or unsafe touches? Safe touches are the ones that make you feel
safe, comfortable, happy, and cared for. For example, when your
parents hug you or when your parents kiss you.
Unsafe touches are the ones that make you feel unsafe, nervous,
afraid, or uncomfortable. For example, when your friend hits
you in anger or when a shopkeeper holds your hand forcefully
while receiving money. If you think the touch is an unsafe touch,
you can say NO!
Even if it is an adult you know, if they are trying to touch you
wrongly, you can say NO and share it with somebody you trust.
Let’s read a story now.

Rohan and Riya
Rohan and Riya were brother and sister. One day, they were
getting late for school. Their father was not well, so he called
his friend Jerry to help drop his children off at school.
“Hello kids! Are you ready to go to school?” uncle Jerry said
cheerfully. When school got over, uncle Jerry came to pick up
Rohan and Riya. On their way home, uncle Jerry said, “Let us
go have ice cream.” When they finished their ice-creams, uncle
Jerry leaned towards Riya.
