        Ascending and Descending Order

When we arrange numbers in a group from the smallest to the greatest,
they are said to be in ascending order.
                                                                                    Smallest to greatest
        See the following examples. 18

                                Smallest to greatest 15

                               7 9 10 15 12
                                                                                        9

Write the given numbers in ascending order.

           9, 15, 2, 12 10, 5, 17, 11

When we arrange numbers in a group from the greatest to the smallest,

they are said to be in descending order.
        See the following examples.
                                                                                      20

Greatest to smallest Greatest to smallest
                                                                                                       8
