PREFACE

Approaches for lab activities in Mathematics have undergone a sea change. It create eagerness, innovativeness
and the potentiality to analyse anything fastidiously as well as reasonably. The knowledge of Mathematics cannot
be impactful only through theoretical learning. Practical learning is mandatory to have a better ideas, convictions
        and knowledge of Mathematics.

Keeping up the pace with the demands and need of learners, Lab Manual Mathematics, a series for Classes IX,
X, XI and XII has been published. This series has been written strictly according to the new curriculum prescribed
by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and NCERT. It also adheres to the guidelines of
NCF-SE 2023. State Boards can also prescribe this series.
The idea here is to live and experience mathematics in every nook and corner of our surroundings and not just
limit it to the laboratories. While most of the activities and projects can be done in the classroom itself, teachers
may also utilize other spaces available in their school premises. This lab manual will not only engage the learners
in mathematical concepts and deeper understanding, but also provide the scope to enhance the 21st Century skills
like creativity, critical thinking etc. by exploring, relating and making connections. The self-explanatory style
of activities will limit the role of teachers as facilitators though, but the habit of self-discovery will definitely
        accentuate in our learners.

Salient Features of the Series are as follows:
X Activities and projects are provided as per the guidelines prescribed by the CBSE.
X All the activities and projects have been written in simple, lucid and in an interactive manner.
X Accurate figures, illustrations and diagrams have been provided wherever necessary.

X Theory has been provided with each activity, so that students understand thoroughly the concepts related to
              the activities.
X Different varieties of questions with their answers for complete coverage of topics are as follows–
               Ø Viva-voce questions.
               Ø Competency based questions
                   l Multiple choice questions (MCQs)

                   l Assertion-Reason type questions
Ø Crossword puzzles based upon mathematical phenomenon.
X Blank sheets have been provided to record the work during activities.

Suggestions and feedbacks for the improvement of this series from the principals, teachers, students and parents
        would be most welcome.
