          The  diversity of  art in  India  is  as  extensive as  the country’s  history. India  is  renowned  for  the
          richness and versatility it holds in its art and culture. Let us learn about the masters of paintings
          who have made the country proud with their talents.

          Read the descriptions and write the names of painters. You may

            1    She was the first Indian artist to bring Indian and Western art
               together. She passed away at the young age of 28.

            2    He was one of the first painters to use traditional Indian colours
               such  as  pink,  red,  and  violet.  Besides  nature,  the  flute  often
               appears in his works.

            3    He used very rich colour in his paintings. Most of his paintings
               have a circular bindu, which according to him is a symbol of
               energy and creativity.

            4    He painted in a modern style, but his themes were taken from
               Indian mythology. He received several awards during his career
               including the Padma Bhushan in 2007.

            5    He was the principal artist and creator of Indian Society of
               Oriental  Art.  Popularly known as  ‘Aban Thakur’,  he mainly
               used watercolours in his paintings. Most of his paintings were
               based on Indian spiritual values.

            6    She is one of India’s leading painters. She paints with oil and
               water colours and is a well-known muralist. She is a recipient
               of the Padma Shri.
