        Festivals are celebrated by communities with some characteristic aspects of  their community and
        culture. Festivals bring unity among people and are an essential part of our heritage.

         1    This  harvest festival is celebrated in the state of Kerala in India,
              honouring the ancient King Mahabali. The famous snake boat race
              is held during this festival. ________________________






                                       2       This festival is celebrated in mid-April and marks the Assamese
                                               New Year. It is the coming of spring when farmers prepare the
                                               paddy fields. ________________________




         3    This is a national Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico
              and in other cultures around the world. People gather to pray in
