                              Water Plants




        Some plants have adapted to live in water. These plants are known as water plants or
        aquatic plants.

        Read the clues and write the names of these water plants using the Help Box.



          1                            This  is  a  free-floating  plant  native  to  South  America.  The
                                       leaves of this plant are bulbous from the base and grows
                                       up to 12 inches in length. It has a pink and purple coloured
                                       flower.

        This is a free-floating spongy plant. The leaves of this plant
        are light green in colour and grow up to 15 cm.

                                       This plant is native to East Asia. It has small flowers with
                                       white or yellow petals with heart-shaped leaves spreading
                                       up to 15 cm.

        They are fast growing and float in and over water. They are
        also source of nutrition for wildlife.

                                       This plant is native to  Amazon  river. It has feathery green
                                       leaves. This plant can help oxygenate water and reduce algae.
