                                            Manipuri dance is one of the chief Indian classical
                                            dance forms. It is mostly ritualistic and popular
                                            in the northeast. Guru Bipin Singh and Guru

                                            Chandranath Sinha are famous dancers.










             Mohiniyattam is the classical dance form of Kerala.

             The Travancore ruler who encouraged this dance
             form is Maharaja Swathi Thirunal. Kalamandalam
             Kalyanikutty Amma and Thottasseri Chinnammu

             Amma were famous dancers.








                                           Kathak is the classical dance form of Uttar Pradesh.
                                           The  origin of Kathak is traditionally attributed

                                           to the travelling bards in ancient northern India.
                                           Birju Maharaj and Gopi Krishna were famous
                                           dancers.








             Kathakali is the most well-known dance drama
             from the  south Indian state of Kerala. The

             word “kathakali” literally means  “story-play”.
             It is known for its large, elaborate makeup and
             costumes.  Both Pattikkamthodi Ravunni Menon

             and Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair were famous
             dancers.
