Join these pairs of sentences using suitable conjunctions.

The part of speech that joins two words, groups of words or sentences is called the conjunction.
Kinds of Conjunctions
There are three kinds of conjunctions:
1. Coordinating 2. Subordinating 3. Correlative
The conjunctions that connect two or more equal parts of a sentence are called the coordinating
conjunctions. They are also called coordinators. They may be words, phrases or clauses.
Read the sentences given below.
• We were hungry and thirsty.
• I wanted to ride my bike but the tyre was flat.
• Henry wants pears or carrots for supper.
Here is a list of some coordinating conjunctions.

The conjunctions that join a dependent (or subordinating) clause to an independent (or main)
clause are called the subordinating conjunctions. They are also called subordinators.
