Addition means putting things together. It is
represented by symbol ‘+’ which is called plus.

Now, look at the two boxes given below.

One box has 4 balls and the other box has 3 balls. Both the boxes together have

7 balls.
The answer

Thus, + = we get after
addition is
4 + 3 = 7 called sum.
