           Q. 2. Assertion (A) : A line has no end points.

Reason (R) : A line extends infinitely in all directions.
           Q. 3. Assertion (A) : In the given figure, lines P and Q are called
intersecting lines because they intersect each P
                                  other at point O. O Q
Reason (R) : If two lines cross each other at a point
somewhere, they are called intersecting lines.

                 Activity

Objective : To make a perpendicular line from a point on the given line, by paper folding.
Materials Required : Paper sheets, ruler, pencil.
Procedure : 1. Take a sheet of paper. Measure and draw a line segment AB of 6 cm.

                                   2. Mark point P in the middle of the line segment AB.
                                   3. Fold the paper along a line passing through the point P such that the part of
the line segment AB that lies on one side of the line of fold falls on the other
part. Make a crease and unfold the paper.
                                   4. Draw a line XY along the crease as shown in the figure. Then, line XY is
perpendicular to the given line segment at given point P.
