Activity
Objective : To make a perpendicular line from a point on the given line, by paper folding.
Materials Required : Paper sheets, ruler, pencil.
Procedure : 1. Take a sheet of paper. Measure and draw a line segment AB of 6 cm.
2. Mark point P in the middle of the line segment AB.
3. Fold the paper along a line passing through the point P such that the part of
the line segment AB that lies on one side of the line of fold falls on the other
part. Make a crease and unfold the paper.
4. Draw a line XY along the crease as shown in the figure. Then, line XY is
perpendicular to the given line segment at given point P.
