CHECKING SPELLING AND GRAMMAR
Word 2019 allows you to not only add and edit text in a document, but also fix
spelling and grammar mistakes. Word has in-built dictionary and grammar rules to
check for such errors in a document.
The spelling mistakes in a document are marked with wavy red lines,
grammatical mistakes with a blue double underline, and language
improvements with a dashed blue underline.
To check spellings and grammar:
1. On the Review tab, in the Proofing group, click Spelling & Grammar .
Word searches the document for errors and displays the Proofing pane on the
right side of the Work area. It displays each spelling and grammar error, and
options to correct each error.
