To crop a picture:

1. Select the picture. 2
2. On the Picture Format tab, click the Crop
button in the Size group.
Thick black handles appear around the
picture.

3. Drag the handles to mark the area of the picture you want to keep.
The areas that will be excluded from the cropped picture appear shaded.
4. Click anywhere outside the picture or click the Crop button again to apply the
changes.

Create a document in Word titled ‘Hardware Devices’. Write about any ten hardware
devices. Illustrate the document with pictures. Format the pictures in different styles and
apply effects to make them eye-catching.

INSERTING SYMBOLS

Word 2016 allows you to insert special symbols in a document, such as the Copyright
sign © or Rupee symbol `, that are not present on the
keyboard. 2

To insert a symbol in a document:
1. Click the location in the document where you want
to insert a symbol.
2. On the Insert tab, click the Symbol button in the 3

Symbols group.
