Past Simple
The passive voice is formed by using was/were + third form of the verb.
Active Voice Passive Voice
1. The baby broke the toy. The toy was broken by the baby.
2. He helped the poor. The poor were helped by him.
Past Contiunous Tense
The passive voice is formed by using was being/were being + third form of the verb.
Active Voice Passive Voice
1. The tailor was sewing a shirt. A shirt was being sewn by the tailor.
2. He was helping me. I was being helped by him.
Past Perfect Tense
The passive voice is formed by using had been + third form of the verb.
Active Voice Passive Voice
1. The tailor had sewn the shirt. The shirt had been sewn by the tailor.
2. He had helped me. I had been helped by him.
Simple future
The passive voice is formed by using will be/shall be + third form of the verb.
Active Voice Passive Voice
I shall learn this poem. This poem will be learnt by me.
They boys will play cricket. Cricket will be played by the boys.
Future perfect tense
The passive voice is formed by using will have been/shall have been + third form of
the verb.
Active Voice Passive Voice
My class will have won the prize. The prize will have been won by my class.
The stranger will have helped me. I shall have been helped by the stranger.
