          Singular Number


          A noun that stands for one person, animal, place, or thing is said to be in the singular
          number.

          Boy, house, apple, park, pencil, bird and notebook are some nouns in the singular
          number.

          Plural Number

          A noun that stands for more than one person, animal, place, or thing is said to be in

          the plural number.

          Boys, houses, apples, parks, pencils, birds and notebooks are some nouns in the plural
          number.

          Formation of Plurals

            1.  Most singular nouns form their plurals by adding -s at the end.

                boy—boys  girl—girls  book—books  egg—eggs  lion—lions

            2.  We add -es to the nouns ending in -ch, -sh, -s, -ss, -o or -x.
