               Warm-up





             Read the given sentences and circle the adjectives.
               1.  The kids were playing with a soft ball.

               2.  She was wearing a beautiful black dress.

               3.  We enjoyed the delicious food.

               4.  The tall man standing near the black table is my uncle.

               5.  The children were hungry after a long day at school.







          Adjectives are the words which add something to the meaning of a noun or pronoun.


          Kinds of Adjectives


          Let us read about the adjectives one by one.


          Adjectives of Quality

          Adjectives of quality tell us of what kind a person or thing is.


          Read these sentences.
            1.  She is wearing a pink saree.

            2.  Alexander was a great conqueror.

            3.  Charming girls are taken as models.


          Each sentence has a word in colour. It mentions a quality of the noun that follows it.
          So it is an adjective of quality.


          Proper Adjectives

          A proper adjective is an adjective that is derived from a proper noun.
