VIII. You  are  Shivani/Shiv.  You,  along  with  your  friends,  solved  the  mystery  of  a  haunted
                house in a fair in your neighbourhood. Write a diary entry in 100–120 words narrating
                the incident and expressing your views.

                  In your diary entry, you must:
                  •  describe the fair and the mystery of the haunted house in the fair.

                  •  write why you wanted to visit the haunted house.
                  •  describe how you and your friends solved the mystery of the haunted house.
                  •  express your feelings after you won the first prize in solving the mystery.

            IX.  You are Rajat Makhija. Your school is organising a Himalayan Base Camp for mountaineering
                this year and your parents have given their permission too. You are thrilled. Express your
                feelings, in 100–120 words, by writing a page in your diary.

                  In your diary entry, you must:
                  •  write about your love for mountaineering.
                  •  write how you enjoyed various trekking trips.
                  •  write about your dream of conquering Mt Everest.


            X.  You  have  just  returned  from  Australia  where  you  saw  many  kangaroos.  You  are  fond
                of  them.  Write  a  diary  entry,  in  100–120  words,  sharing  your  experience  of  Australia
                especially with kangaroos.

                  In your diary entry, you must:

                  •  write about your trip to Australia.
                  •  write about the zoo where you saw the kangaroos.
                  •  write about the cute little baby kangaroos that stayed in their mother’s pouch.


            XI.  You are Naveen/Neena. Your father is a scientist in ISRO. Last night, some of his colleagues
                came for dinner. As they were discussing the achievements of ISRO and the contribution
                of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam in their space projects, you felt proud of him. Write a diary entry
                in 100–120 words expressing your pride and happiness.

                  In your diary entry, you should write about:
                  •  how you felt proud of the great scientist.

                  •  his early life, his research, and discoveries.
                  •  the recognition of his work.
                  •  how you would like to achieve great heights like him.
