It also indicates an event, activity, or experience.
• I met George only once during my stay in Australia.
Until indicates up to (the time that).
• You are not going out until Monday.
From indicates the starting point of an action. It is mostly used with to or till.
• The rangoli competition will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
• She was the Principal of this school from 2006 till 2014.
Between indicates duration between two points of time.
• Sunny was practising martial arts with his friends between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Before indicates earlier than a certain point of time.
• Sanya went to Church before breakfast.
Since indicates a certain point of time at which the action began in the past and is in progress
till now.
• Mr Verma has been working in this office since 2000.

PREPOSITIONS OF
Prepositions that give us information about the place, location, or position of a noun or a
pronoun in relation to something else are called prepositions of place. These prepositions
include in, at, on, above, below, opposite, in front of, under, over, behind, between, among,
by/beside/next to, and near.
For example:
In indicates the position of something inside a large area or an enclosed space.
• Mother is working in the garden.
• I spent my formative years in Pune.
At indicates a specific place, location, or position.
• Turn left at the next crossing.
• The plane halts at Kochi on the way to Thiruvananthapuram.
On shows position on a surface.
• The encyclopedia is lying on the table.
